Why this score
The score adds up these parts. Each part has a weight. A part counts as the average of its sources, pulled toward 80 when there are few sources.

- CPU
- 8 cores / 16 threads (Zen 4), Radeon 780M 12 CU
- Memory
- 32 GB
- GPU memory
- 16 GBNo AMD Variable Graphics Memory on this chip (AMD introduced it with the Ryzen AI 300 series). Windows' documented limit for system memory used by graphics (Microsoft, 'Calculating Graphics Memory') is MIN(80% of RAM, MAX(RAM - 16 GB, 50% of RAM)) = 16 GB on 32 GB of RAM. No BIOS UMA maximum for this box was found, so the Windows figure is used. Tuned Linux GTT is not used: a GMKtec NucBox K8 Plus (same Radeon 780M) with 64 GB ran a 26B model with amdgpu.gttsize=49152 (48 GB) and ttm.pages_limit=12582912 (blog.pastwind.org).

Notes
Cheap 0.83 L Radeon 780M box with replaceable DDR5-5600, USB4 and an OCuLink option, so it handles small and mid-size 4-bit models at modest speed (about 90 GB/s). One 2.5 GbE port and a GPU memory share capped by Windows' 16 GB at 32 GB RAM.
The Minisforum product page is shared by UM760/UM870/UM880 Plus and its printed spec table (dimensions 130 x 126.5 x 50.4 mm, 0.67 kg, one USB4, one 2.5G RJ45, OCuLink via M.2 adapter) is the UM760 Plus column; the UM870/880 Plus use the same chassis (a retailer listing for the UM870 Plus gives 126.5 x 130 x 50.4 mm, 670 g), so the numbers are used with that caveat. No review from Notebookcheck, Tom's Hardware, TechRadar or similar with a score was found: Notebookcheck has only launch/deal news, Retro Handhelds shows no number, Hostbor's 8.7/10 was seen only second-hand. Release month not read (page listing 10 Mar 2026 is the combined product). The 8845HS NPU figure is the 16 TOPS Notebookcheck gives for the same chip in its AOOSTAR GEM12 review (search excerpt). Memory speed source: Minisforum page: dual DDR5 channels, up to 5600 MHz, SO-DIMM x 2: 5600 x 128 bit = 89.6 GB/s.
