Why this score

The score adds up these parts. Each part has a weight. A part counts as the average of its sources, pulled toward 80 when there are few sources.

  1. AI power

    50% weightcounts as 74.4

    Average of 2 sources: 71.6

  2. Experts

    30% weightcounts as 79.9

    Average of 2 sources: 79.9

  3. Users

    20% weightcounts as 80.0

Thin: only 2 reviews and buyer ratings, so they are pulled toward the average.

80 is the field average. A part counts as 80 + (average − 80) × N ÷ (N + 1), where N is its number of sources. One source counts half of the gap from 80. No sources count as 80.

Notes

Older (2023) but still sold, compact 0.86 L box with the same Radeon 780M and about 90 GB/s as the newer 8000-series boxes, two USB4 ports and one 2.5 GbE port. Minisforum lists 64 GB as its maximum memory, and the BIOS limit for dedicated GPU memory was not read for this box.

Notebookcheck's measurements (power 4.6 / 6 / 10.6 W idle, 72.5 / 94.6 W load, 31.7 dB(A) idle) come from a 16 GB DDR5 / 2 x 256 GB SSD unit reviewed in Feb 2024 under Notebookcheck's older v7 rating scheme. ServeTheHome measured 5-7 W idle and 80-85 W maximum. The TechRadar page's schema.org rating is 4.2 although its byline shows four stars. This unit has no NPU figure on Geizhals (N/A); AMD's own page was not read, so the NPU figure is left blank. Memory speed source: DDR5-5600 dual channel (Minisforum EU page: up to 5600 MHz, max 64 GB) x 128 bit = 89.6 GB/s.
