Specs
- Chip
- AMD Ryzen 7 H 255
- CPU
- 8 cores / 16 threads (Zen 4), Radeon 780M 12 CU
- Memory
- 32 GB
- GPU memory
- 16 GBNo AMD Variable Graphics Memory on this chip (AMD introduced it with the Ryzen AI 300 series). Windows' documented limit for system memory used by graphics (Microsoft, 'Calculating Graphics Memory') is MIN(80% of RAM, MAX(RAM - 16 GB, 50% of RAM)) = 16 GB on 32 GB of RAM. No BIOS UMA maximum for this box was found, so the Windows figure is used. Tuned Linux GTT is not used: a GMKtec NucBox K8 Plus (same Radeon 780M) with 64 GB ran a 26B model with amdgpu.gttsize=49152 (48 GB) and ttm.pages_limit=12582912 (blog.pastwind.org).

Notes
Smaller and cheaper sibling of the AI X1 Pro with user-replaceable dual-channel DDR5-5600 (about 90 GB/s) and an OCuLink port; it comes with Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 or HX 470 (24 GB of the 32 GB for the GPU) or with the Ryzen 7 H 255 (16 GB of 32 GB, 48 GB of 64 GB). One 2.5G LAN port, and no independent review of these versions was found.
Case size: the Minisforum page spec block gives 128 x 126 x 52 mm (0.6 kg) for the AI X1 columns (Ryzen 7 255/260/AI 9 365) and 195 x 195 x 47.5 mm for the AI X1 Pro (HX 370). The HX 370 / HX 470 variants of the AI X1 have their own SKUs (X1-37031EU, X1-47031EU) and are priced below the Pro, so the small case is assumed but not stated for them. Memory ceiling: the page says 64 GB for Ryzen 7 versions and 128 GB for the AI 9 column. The GSMArena review in refs tests the Ryzen AI 9 365 version and shows no numeric score. The AI X1 listing with Ryzen AI 9 365 is only sold out or refurbished now (EUR 929 for 64 GB, unavailable), so it is not listed. The page also lists Ryzen 7 260 32/64 GB (EUR 609 / 699) and Ryzen AI 9 365 64 GB (EUR 929), all unavailable, and HX 370 64 GB at EUR 1,599 (over the cap). No review of the H 255 version was found. Memory speed source: Minisforum page: DDR5 (SO-DIMM x2) 5600 MT/s; dual channel = 89.6 GB/s.
