Why this score
The score adds up these parts. Each part has a weight. A part counts as the average of its sources, pulled toward 80 when there are few sources.
AI power
50% weightcounts as 80.7Average of 2 sources: 81.1

20% weightcounts as 80.0No sources found yet. No data yet. This part counts as 80.
Good: 3 reviews and buyer ratings.
80 is the field average. A part counts as 80 + (average − 80) × N ÷ (N + 1), where N is its number of sources. One source counts half of the gap from 80. No sources count as 80.

- 96 GBWindows/BIOS: AMD Variable Graphics Memory, up to 75% of RAM = 96 GB on 128 GB (AMD rule; the largest share the vendor tools allow). HotHardware and StorageReview say up to 96 GB can be set as VRAM on this HP. Tuned Linux maxima need kernel parameters and are not used: up to 124 GiB (kyuz0 toolboxes on a Framework Desktop, Fedora, amdgpu.gttsize=126976, ttm.pages_limit=32505856, 4 GiB left to the OS), about 110 GB (runaihome), about 108 GB stable (Jeff Geerling).

Notes
A business workstation in 2.9 L: two Thunderbolt 4 ports, optional 10 GbE through a Flex IO module, and only about 5 W at idle. It has the same chip and 256 GB/s as the other Strix Halo boxes, so LLM speed is the same, but it costs more than the gaming-style mini PCs. Fans get loud under full load.
Notebookcheck's 79% was read via Starry Hope; the Notebookcheck page could not be read. Notebookcheck tested the 64 GB model, HotHardware the 128 GB model. Ethernet: HP QuickSpecs v12 says the integrated RJ-45 is 2.5GbE and 10GBase-T is a Flex IO option; some retailer listings say Gigabit. Starry Hope's table says 'Thunderbolt: No' while HP QuickSpecs names 2x Thunderbolt 4. Weight: HP says starting at 2.3 kg; Starry Hope says 2.65 kg. Noise: Starry Hope relays up to 70 dB under maximum load from one tester; not used. Power: HP QuickSpecs show 177.7 W 'busy max' for the 128 GB build; HotHardware measured 256 W at the wall in a power-virus test. Two speed runs from another Strix Halo box were dropped. GPU memory follows AMD's Variable Graphics Memory rule for every box with this chip (75% of RAM: 48 GB on 64 GB, 96 GB on 128 GB); tuned Linux figures are in the GPU memory note. FP16 TFLOPS is AMD's figure for the chip.
