- #62 of 67 ranked
- #35 of 37 AMD machines
Why this score
The score adds up these parts. Each part has a weight. A part counts as the average of its sources, pulled toward 80 when there are few sources.
AI power
50% weightcounts as 74.4Average of 2 sources: 71.6
Experts
30% weightcounts as 78.5Average of 2 sources: 77.7
Users
20% weightcounts as 80.0No sources found yet. No data yet. This part counts as 80.
Thin: only 2 reviews and buyer ratings, so they are pulled toward the average.
80 is the field average. A part counts as 80 + (average − 80) × N ÷ (N + 1), where N is its number of sources. One source counts half of the gap from 80. No sources count as 80.

Specs
- Chip
- AMD Ryzen 7 H 255
- CPU
- 8 cores / 16 threads (Zen 4, Hawk Point refresh)
- Memory

- GPU memory
- 16 GBNo AMD Variable Graphics Memory on this chip (AMD introduced it with the Ryzen AI 300 series). Windows' documented limit for system memory used by graphics (Microsoft, 'Calculating Graphics Memory') is MIN(80% of RAM, MAX(RAM - 16 GB, 50% of RAM)) = 16 GB on 32 GB of RAM. No BIOS UMA maximum for this box was found, so the Windows figure is used. Linux GTT tuning is not documented for this iGPU.

Notes
A larger (1.71 L) and louder box (42 dB(A) under load) with three M.2 slots, OCuLink and dual 2.5 GbE; the Ryzen 7 H 255 is a Zen 4 chip with the same Radeon 780M and no NPU. It offers no memory-speed gain over the 8845HS boxes.
Notebookcheck calls the H 255 'essentially a rebadged Ryzen 7 7840HS' with no NPU; its measurements (idle 9.9 / 10.1 / 13.1 W, load 69.8 / 92.8 W, idle 35.4 dB(A), load 42.4 dB(A)) are from a 32 GB / 1 TB unit. Hostbor measured 11 W idle and 33 / 40 / 46 dBA (idle / default / performance mode). Size conflicts: GMKtec states 154 x 151 x 73.6 mm and 920 g; Notebookcheck measured 78 x 155 x 151 mm and 938 g; TechRadar's spec table lists 117 x 112 x 42 mm, which matches neither and is not used. The shop's spec text says 32 GB DDR5 (max 96 GB); TechRadar says up to 128 GB. Memory speed source: GMKtec EU page: 32 GB DDR5 dual channel; TechRadar and Notebookcheck: DDR5-5600; 5600 MT/s x 128 bit = 89.6 GB/s.
