Why this score
The score adds up these parts. Each part has a weight. A part counts as the average of its sources, pulled toward 80 when there are few sources.

Raising the cap with sysctl iogpu.wired_limit_mb works but is unsupported by Apple, so it is not applied.

Notes
A 0.8 L box with 48-64 GB and Thunderbolt 5, but 307 GB/s makes 70B-class dense models slow, and only the 64 GB model reaches 48 GB of default GPU memory. The price has risen sharply versus the M4 Pro generation.
Apple's spec page does not say whether 48/64 GB need the 20-core GPU; the AT buy page sells both with the 16-core GPU (EUR 2,659 / 3,099) and with the 18-core CPU / 20-core GPU for EUR 220 more. Memory bandwidth is given once (307 GB/s) for both GPU options. Power numbers are Apple's own, for the 64 GB / 8 TB config. Macworld 3.5/5 vs PCMag UK 4.5/5: Macworld marks down the price; Macworld's score comes from a search-result summary, PCMag UK's from the Geizhals review table, AppleInsider's from a search excerpt. The Verge reviewed the M6 and M5 Pro together; its 8/10 is the M5 Pro score in the page markup. An oMLX community speed run on the M5 Pro chip was dropped: it does not name the device. Prices are Apple AT list prices: the lower Geizhals offers in each price note were not linked in the research, and Geizhals could not be read again.
